Anti-Communist Movement

Members of the Anti-Communist Movement and Freedom Defenders took to the streets of Miami in a car march to demand freedom for Cuba’s political prisoners — men and women imprisoned by the Castro regime for thinking differently, protesting peacefully or simply demanding a future for their families.

Cuban flags, banners and the voices of the exile community filled the route. The message was simple and direct: the world cannot look away while Cubans are jailed for demanding freedom. The march was also a tribute to those who remain behind bars after the historic protests of July 11, 2021, when thousands of Cubans across the island took to the streets and the regime answered with repression and long prison sentences.

Marches like this one are at the heart of our movement’s work: peaceful, constant and visible activism that keeps the cause of Cuba’s political prisoners in the public eye, from the streets of Miami to the gates of the White House.
